Kristina L. Kotlus

Kristina Kotlus graduated from Mason in 2006. After working for a time for the United Methodist Church in Children's Ministry, she became a full-time homeschooling parent.

Kristina developed the Prince William County Moms website, where she helps families feel connected and informed about the area where they live. She has won numerous awards, including InsideNova Blogger of the Year for four years running, Northern Virginia Magazine Blogger of the Year, Potomac Local's 40 Under 40, and Prince William Living's Influential Woman Award in 2017.

She worked as the community liaison for her state delegate for five years, until his loss in 2018. She is a two-time brain cancer survivor, which inspired her book, I Quit: Facing Cancer with Faith, Family, and Friends (And Sarcasm. There's a lot of that, too). Kristina runs a homeschool co-op, teaches writing to middle- and high-schoolers, and volunteers at her church and with her children's various activities. Her goal is in all things to encourage people to choose joy regardless of their circumstances. Noting that she lives right next to Mason’s Manassas campus, her dream job is teaching at the college level.
