Religious Studies Faculty Participate in the 2022 American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado

Dr. Young-chan Ro, Dr. Alexandria Frisch, Dr. Jaimie Gunderson, and Dr. Jetsun Deleplanque (not pictured) traveled to the annual meeting of the AAR/SBL. 


Dr. Ro presided over the Korean Religions Unit and was a panelist in the Society for Asian and Comparative Philosophy Unit.

Dr. Frisch presented "Bizarre Beasts: Using Animal Studies to Explore Divine Power in Daniel" in the Book of Daniel Unit.

Dr. Gunderson, along with Adeline Harrington (University of Texas at Austin), presented "Shaping Memory and Religious Authority at Tainaron's 'Gateway to Hell'" in the Archaeology of Religion in the Roman World Unit.

Dr. Deleplanque presided over the South Asian Religions Unit and presented "Millenarianism, Utopia, and the Founding of the Bhutanese State" in the Tibetan and Himalayan Religions Unit.
