RELI 350: How did the world of the Bible begin: a few farmers, some migrants and a handful of refugees eventually created a religion that gave us the Old Testament and was the direct ancestor of Christianity and Islam?This course investigates just how that happened: by looking at archaeology, writings in the Old Testament we'll answer these questions.
Just who were these ancient Israelites, how did they see themselves, what did they believe and how did they fuse into such an influential
group: tiny compared to the great empires of the day. The course also looks at some issues that we still find in the present-day Middle East.
